Creating An Experience
I am a multi-media artist living in the Prospect Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. My work is committed to bringing attention to the power Nature has to influence our perception of art, and design. Without the use of shock, shame or guilt I use Nature’s beauty as a protest to Love more for every hate.
Specializing in color, I am passionate about teaching inventive ways to demystify color by creating decorative patterned paper for book and box art, sculpture, and installation. To expand this craft further I use my original artwork, video clips, and photography to create animated vignettes that share my thirst for color, nature, and unconditional love, not conditional romance.
Awarded a scholarship to Central St Martins, in London, England I obtained a BFA degree in Textile Design and Fashion. When I returned to the states I developed packaging, graphics for point-of-purchase displays, original textiles and surface designs primarily for the cosmetic industry. Working with cosmetic buyers from the department stores Barneys New York, Neiman Marcus, Henri Bendels, and Bergdorf Goodman I designed and produced travel and cosmetic bags sold nationally and internationally. Many of the principles in printmaking are similar to fabric and surface design making an easy and natural transition for me into fine art in 2009.
My work has been exhibited throughout the United States and Internationally. March 2019 I completed a Fellowship Residency at La Scuola Internazionale di Grafica Venezia, Italy sponsored in part by La Scuola, The Boston Printmakers and Speedball Art Products.
